Items Discussed:

1)       Treasurer’s Report—There is currently $5757.78 in the account, reported by Kim Candee.

2)       Bottle DriveWill be held on 10/7/06 starting at 9:00 AM. We will need 16 drivers.  (There are 33 Modified players, 17 JV players and 23 Varsity Players).  Julie Crowell has reminder fliers to hand out to the players.  Donuts will be provided for the drivers and players.  We will also get 2 boxes of Joe.  There should not be any other bottle drives that day  (no other bottle drives for 10/7 have gone through the Board).  Last year we earned a total of $1540 as a result of the Bottle Drive.

3)       Pizza PartyWas held on 9/12/06. Our expense was $313.22 and we brought in about $200.  Marcia Lamirande and Kim Candee wrote down how much pizza, salad and soda/water we used so that we know what to order for next year. The pizza was purchased from Pizza Man.  Also, it was suggested that we use individual bottles of water instead of jugs of water for next year.  The soda went over better this year.

4)       Programs—MikeCaselle indicated that the programs are completed and ready to sell.  The cost will be $2 per Program. We took in $800 in advertisements, $335 in well-wishers.  The expense for printing and postage is $242.  110 copies were printed at Fed EX.  Complimentary copies will be delivered to the sponsors and to each Coach.  Thank you cards with the signatures of the players and Coaches will be made up for the contributors.  If we sell the remaining 85 copies, we will have cleared a profit of $1062. Dan Varga will sell at the JV games, Vikki Earle will sell at the Modified games and programs at the Varsity games will be sold at the concessions.

5)       Team Pictures—The Modified picture needs to be retaken. The other levels also need to be retaken.  The Varsity picture needs to include Meagan Rowe.  Steve Miller provides the roster cards at the cost of $1.25. The Senior picture also needs to be retaken to include Megan Rawlings.  Carrie Sayler will take the picture on 9/21.

6)       Clothing--Quite a few of the extra items were sold at the concessions. Additional orders were received as a result of the second sale.

7)       50/50—Martha Passamonte indicated that we still need a JV parent to sell tickets at the JV games.

8)       Water Bottles—Tina ordered new water bottles.  They need to be brought home and washed after each game.

9)       Concessions—Ellen Lauko bought a fold up table and it is being stored in the shed.  A grill was not purchased and it was decided not to buy one at this time. There have been no volunteers to help with the concessions.  Volunteers are needed. The concessions involve a lot of set up. We ordered pizza from Pizza Man for $7.00 per each large pizza (same price as the Football team pays) and sold each slice was sold for $1.50 per slice.  The pizza went over very well.  The pizza was delivered and next game we will ask if we can use a warmer bag.  Donuts and coffee were sold. That also went over well.  We made a profit of $180 selling candy, chips and soda.  We need gloves; Jackie Caselle offered to get them.

10)   Yearbook—Per Vikki Earle, information packets will be handed out to the Seniors on 9/22/06.  2 weeks are needed to copy.  She needs pictures—individual, Senior pictures, candids—Varsity only. The Seniors can out in any individual pictures that they want. She needs volunteers to help put the yearbook together.  Vikki needs to get the yearbook to Renee McKee by 10/24/06.  Renee volunteered to have the yearbook copied for us.

11)   Senior Day—will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006, 3:30 PM, game against Liverpool. Each Senior will be given a corsage on the Friday before. We will have a balloon arch.  We will also give flowers to the Seniors of the opposing team. Mike Caselle has group pictures of the Seniors. The gift for the Seniors will be a blanket. Carrie Sayler will take the pictures of the players and their parents.  Ray McKenna is also an option for picture taking.

12)   Banquet—will be held on November 7,2006 from 6-8 PM (set up at 5:00 PM). Shelly Clark is open to ideas for gifts for the Seniors.  She would like to have a Senior parent help with gift ideas.

13)   Modified Liaison—Patty Hines agreed to be the liaison for the Modified team

14)   SU vs. Georgetown Field Hockey Game—October 1,2006 at Coyne Field.  Shelly Clark thought it would be a good idea for the players to watch a Division I game.  Everyone agreed that this is would be beneficial for all levels.  This will have to be done on an individual basis.  We cannot consider it as a Field Hockey outing because of the practice and game schedule.  A day off must be taken after 6 consecutive days of practice and games.

15)   Indoor Turf Practice—Tina is not impressed with the management at Hopkins Road nor is she impressed with Hopkins Road as a facility for indoor practices. Also, the price was raised to $400 for 2 hours.  We will no longer use Hopkins Road.  Jones Road will allow us to use both sides for $250.  There will be practices at Jones road on 9/27/06, 3:30-5, 9/30/06, 9-11 and 10/9/06, 4-6.  The payers will be bussed on 9/27 and will need to provide their own transportation for the other days.  The Athletic Department will cover 2 of the practices and the Booster Club will cover 2.

16)   Indoor Field Hockey, Hopkins Rd.—Tina is frustrated with this program because of the poor officiating and the players pick up no so good habits.  Tina will not be coaching.  She is trying to set something up at Jones Rd—maybe some open gym time.  Teams from other schools would be invited to participate.  She would even consider putting  the players in a gym with a sock on their sticks.

17)   Next meeting10/16/06, Baker High School, Room 2405, 6:30 PM.
