10/24/2006 Minutes
Location:
Attendees: Linda Gribble, Patty
Hines, Michelle McKenna, Carrie Sayler, Jackie Caselle, Mike Caselle, Mark
Fryer, Cindy Fryer, Martha Passamonte, Kim Candee, Ellen Lauko, Julie Crowell,
Vikki Earle
Items Discussed:
1)
Treasurer’s Report—Current balance is $8334.66 reported by Kim
Candee. Expenses to be paid are Senior day balloons, banquet, Senior gifts, yearbook, team
pictures, Senior game, yearbook ad, insurance bill, goggles. Incoming will be
proceeds from concessions, 50/50, programs and goggles.
2)
Team Pictures—Confusion cleared – High-resolution copies of team
pictures are needed for the program.
3)
Team Parties—Kim Candee was given approval from Tina to allow
the Booster Club to pay for team parties.
A cap needs to be determined. It
was also suggested to allow a set dollar amount per player. Also, when discussing other ways that the
Booster Club can Benefit the players, Mike Caselle suggested that the Booster
Club provide 2 pairs of socks to each player
4)
Tax Exempt ID—It was suggested that the Booster Club pursue a
tax exempt ID. Jane Neer looked into
this previously. There are many rules to follow. For example, the club would need to have
by-laws, voting, and a certain number of people at each meeting.
5)
Programs—Thank you letters and
copies of programs were handed out to be delivered to sponsors. There are 30
programs left, will sell at the banquet.
6)
Clothing—The bill has been
paid. We made a profit as a result of
the clothing sale. The remaining items will be sold at the banquet.
7)
50/50—Martha Passamonte provided a statement for the
50/50 earnings for the 2006 season. Not much luck selling at the JV games due
to rain. She suggested that next year we
space out the 50/50—maybe 3 Varsity, 2 JV and 2 Modified. She needs volunteers for next year.
8)
Concessions—Ellen Lauko reported a profit of $305.50. The weather posed problems this season. There
are leftover items—not a large amount—chips, candy, soda, water and
PowerAde. Ellen will store the table and
tent. We also need to purchase two 2.5
gallon insulated containers for coffee and hot chocolate.
9)
Bottle Drive—Profits are still coming in. So far $1755 has been deposited. There were some concerns--1 or 2 groups
participated for 1 hour because the driver had to leave. Also, some groups left from home. As this is a team event, players need to meet
at school and sign in. It was suggested
that next year we meet at the Durgee tennis courts because of the congestion at
the high school. Depending on our schedule, we will try to get an earlier date
to avoid conflicts with SAT’s, PSAT’s and college visits. Linda Gribble
suggested that maybe going forward if someone cannot come early to participate
in the bottle drive, they could possibly come later to the bottle redemption
center to sort bottles.
10)
Senior Day—Despite the weather, it
was a great day and we defeated
11)
Banquet—The Senior gifts are red
with black pullover jackets with Baldwinsville field Hockey on one side and the
players name on the other side. It was
also agreed that frames should be purchased for the pictures taken on Senior
Day to be given to the Seniors. Modified parent Bob Hines is donating, as a
raffle, one of his paintings, “Winter Chickadees” 11’x 9”, to benefit the Field Hockey program
12)
Scholarships—It was agreed at a prior
meeting that the Field Hockey Booster Club provide 2 scholarships to graduating
Seniors based on academics. There was a
discussion on different ways to determine the recipients. No decision was made.
13)
Indoor Field Hockey—Tina was not at the meeting but left a message
that she has a call into
14)
