10/19/05 Meeting Minutes
Location: Baker High School Cafeteria 3
Attendees: Cindy Fryer, Jacki Hess, Tina Solomon, Bonny McCabe Joanne M. O’Connor, Mike Caselle, Martha Passamonte, Kim Candee, Barb Briggs, Shelly Clark, Sally Sharpe, Stephanie Pelcher
Items discussed:
1) Treasurer’s Report—Kim Candee provided a handout of income and expenses. There is $7,496.29 currently in the checkbook. There is additional money still coming in--$1428.11 from the Bottle Drive, $400 from concessions, $423 from 50/50. Additional money will be coming in from the program and clothing. Expenses for Senior Day have been paid except for flowers and pictures. Also, the bus for the trip to Waltham, MA still needs to be paid.
2) Varsity/ Junior Varsity Trip—to Waltham was fun, successful and made Tessa’s day.
3) Field Hockey Yearbook—A copy of a prior year’s program was passed around for everyone to look at. Any candid shots provided will not be returned. The 3 pictures requested of the Seniors will be returned. A copy of the yearbook will be given to each Varsity player. Pictures of the recent trip and practice in the mud will be included, pictures to be provided by the Coaches. Senior profile sheets are required to be handed in no later than Friday, 10/21.
4) Baker Yearbook—the well-wisher form has already been completed and submitted.
5) Concessions—Bonny reported a profit of $411.
6) 50/50—Martha reported a profit of $423. 50/50 was done at 6 Varsity games and 4 Junior Varsity games. Martha provided a written breakdown of the profit from each game.
7) Benefit—A donation of $100 was given by the Field Hockey Booster Club for a benefit given for the brother of Jen Osier (P.E. Teacher at Durgee) who is suffering from stage 4 cancer
8) Team Pictures—Joanne will bring to the Banquet and will be handed out then.
9) Banquet—Date has been changed to 11/8/05. Fliers will be handed out to all players this weekend. Cindy Fryer will order the cakes from Wegman’s—2 full sheet cakes and 1 half-sheet cake. One of the full sheets will be decorated with a field hockey player. The other cakes will be undecorated. Cindy Fryer will also purchase the soda. Katie Bowman will be responsible for the decorations. Kim will e-mail Shelly with the budget for the decorations. Shelly has paper products, Kim has forks, and Bonny has 2 coffee pots that she will give to Shelly. Jan Guhin will purchase the Senior gifts. Suggested gifts were flashlight/clocks from Things Remembered at $15.00 apiece, charms (double field hockey sticks with a ball) at $20.00 apiece and Vera Bradley coin purses at $13.00 apiece. The group agreed on the charms and coin purses. Each Senior girl will also get a 5 x 7 picture of the player with her parents taken on Senior Day.
10) Indoor Field Hockey—Begins the first week in December, the cost will be $55 per player.
11) Senior Game—will be played on 11/5/05 at Liverpool at 5:00 or 6:00. The cost is $5.00 per player. It was agreed that The Booster Club would pay the fee for each player.
12) Clothing—Stephanie reported a profit of $396.00 this year. There is some extra clothing. Long sleeve T-shirts will be given the man at the bottle redemption center and the girl that works with him. A shirt will also be given to the B’ville bus mechanic who helped make the MA trip possible. Tina will keep the rest in the leftover bin.
13) Tina—feels there has been some negativity and has sincerely asked for our help in projecting a positive attitude regarding the Field Hockey Program. Tina also indicated that she likes providing college recommendations, but needs to have them given to her in advance of the due date to give her time to complete them.
14) Next Meeting—will be held on 11/17/05 at Lock 24 at 6:30.
