10/3/05 Meeting Minutes

Location: Baker High School Cafeteria 3

Attendees: Cindy Fryer, Renee McKee, Kim Candee, Bonny McCabe, Cheryl Andrews, Ellen Lauko, Mike Caselle, Jackie Caselle, Shelly Clark, Marcia Lamirande

Items discussed:

1) Whitney Point—Varsity game originally scheduled for 10/22 has been moved to 10/17 at 4:15 PM. The JV game has been cancelled. Coaches are trying to schedule games with Marathon on 10/22.

2) Liverpool Game 10/15—JV game changed to 1:00 and Varsity game changed to 2:30 due to PSATs that morning.

3) Varsity/Junior Varsity Trip—to attend a field hockey game in Worcester, MA, has gone to the Board on 10/3/05 for approval.

4) Senior Night—Dates of 10/15 or 10/17 were suggested. A vote was taken with 10/15 being the preferred date. A balloon arch will be made. Bonny McCabe knows of someone who may be able to make the arch for us. She will check on that. Several suggestions were made for gifts to give to the Seniors, cost of $20-$30 per Senior player. Will have the underclassmen on the Varsity team involved in Senior night, decorating T-shirts and bags. Bonny suggested we have a tailgate party after the Varsity game on 10/15 for all the players and parents. We can use the paper products left over from the concessions. Marcia will look into getting a cake or cookies. The team parent reps can make phone calls to parents.

5) Baker Yearbook—The Booster Club will place a “Congratulation Seniors” message in the high school yearbook, cost $100.

6) Field Hockey Yearbook—Renee is looking for candid pictures, newspaper clippings, Messenger articles, and box scores. There will be a page for each Senior with 2 or 3 pictures of each girl, a Senior profile sheet, pictures of underclassmen, stats. A yearbook will be given to each Varsity player.

7) Team Pictures—will be given at the Banquet.

8) Website—Mike Caselle needs a picture of Amanda Rhoads, now a Varsity player, to place on the Website.

9) McDonalds Jukebox (Downer Street)—for the month of October, all proceeds from the jukebox will go to the Field Hockey program. This should be announced at school and at the games. A notice could be placed in the Messenger.

10) Concessions—Bonny reported that we made $300 from concession sales. Ellen Lauko will run the concessions next year.

11) Next Meeting—will be held on 10/18/05 at Baker Cafeteria 3, 6:30 PM.
