5/17/06 Meeting Minutes

Items Discussed:
1)
Treasurer’s Report—There is currently $4692.17 in the account.
2)
Bottle Drive—Tentative dates are 9/23/06 or 10/7/06.
3)
Ice Cream Social—Preferred date is 6/8/06 at 6:30 PM in the Baker
cafeteria. Tina will check on the availability of the Baker cafeteria for that
date. The alternate date will be
6/22/06. Jackie Caselle is the
Chairperson for this event. Byrne Dairy
is donating 3 containers of ice cream with the purchase of one. Jackie ordered vanilla, chocolate, cookie
dough and holy cow. Folders with tryout
information and necessary forms will be available.
4)
Programs—Mike is requesting a parent representative from
each of the 3 levels to work with a parent base to sell programs at each of the
games, to solicit more businesses for advertisements and to collect well
wishers. A request for volunteers will
be made at the Ice Cream Social.
5)
Clothing—Mike Caselle presented a copy of the new
logo. Stephanie Pelcher will continue to
chair the clothing fundraiser. Melanie
offered to help. Samples will be
available at the Ice Cream Social.
6)
Summer Camps—The Hartwick Camp is July 24-27,2006. The
Baldwinsville Camp will be 7/31/06-8/4/06.
Tina handed out brochures. An ad will be placed in The Messenger. The Youth League will be held on Wednesdays
during the last 3 weeks of July and the 1st week in August. The brochures are in the process of being
printed.
7)
Booster Club Officers— Kim Candee, President; Julie Crowell, Vice
President; Mike Candee, Treasurer; Cindy Fryer, Secretary.
8)
Concessions—Ellen Lauko agreed to continue running the
concessions.
9)
Coaching—The school budget passed which will allow for an
assistant coach at each level.
10)
Tryouts—for Varsity and Junior Varsity will be August
21,22and 23. On August 24 and 25, Tina
would like to bus the girls for an overnight to William Smith College to
practice on turf. The girls would leave
early on Thursday morning, have a team dinner in the evening and return at
dinnertime on Friday.
11)
Junior Varsity Games—Concerns were brought up about the times of the
J.V. games. Last season, many of the
games were called because of darkness.
There were questions and suggestions regarding the possibility of time
changes for the games or the use of lights.
12)
Goggles—still not being required.
13)
Relay for Life—8/11/06 at Baker.
Would like to have a Field Hockey team for this event. Carrie Sayler
volunteered Abby Sayler to be a team rep.
Tina volunteered to do a shift.
Paul Briggs also volunteered.
14)
Pizza Party—will be held on 9/12/06 at 5:30 PM (after
practice) at the Baker cafeteria
