5/9/05 Meeting Minutes

 Location: Baker High School / Room 2405

 

Attendees:  Cindy Fryer, Cheryl Andrews, Kim Candee, Jacki Hess, Linda Gribble, Stephanie Pelcher, Martha Passamonte, Jackie Caselle, Tina Solomon

 

Items discussed:           

 

1)      Treasury Report—Kim Candee advised that we currently have $8504.69 in the account.

2)      Ice Cream Social—date needs to be changed as a sports banquet is being held that night.  The new date will be Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at 6:30 PM at the Baker cafeteria.  The alternate date is June 22, 2005.  Stephanie Pelcher and Linda Gribble offered the use of their freezers for storing the ice cream.  Jackie Caselle reported that she is getting the ice cream from Byrne Dairy and she ordered 1 vanilla, 1 chocolate, 1 chocolate chip, 1 orange sherbet and cream and 2 cookie dough.

3)      Clothing—Stephanie brought the Spring 2005 Field Hockey Clothing Quotes.  Prices were discussed and she will have samples at the Ice Cream Social.  The bee will be changed a little bit.  The colors will be red, black and white.  The shorts will be black or red with red sticks.

4)       Bottle Drive—Will be held in September, possible 9/17/05.  Drivers need to be signed up ahead of time.  We should try to find someone who can drive around and pick up bottles from the different drivers.

5)      Modified Team Jackets—Tina will check with Renee on the cost of jackets for the Modified team.  OK to go with them if the cost is about $30-$35 apiece.

6)      Uno Fundraiser—We can hold a fundraiser at Uno’s on any night Monday through Thursday between the hours of 5-8 PM. The customer would need to provide a coupon in order for the Field Hockey Team to receive credit.  For sales of $1000 or more, we would receive 20% of the sales, under $1000, we would receive $15%. We will wait until after the League meeting in August to determine a date for the fundraiser.

7)      JUGs Machine—Tina will be ordering the machine.  Mike Caselle found it on the Internet at Dick’s for about $100 less with no shipping charges.

8)      Camp Flyers—they have already gone out at Durgee and Ray, Tina will be sending out to the elementary schools.  Flyers will be sent to Port Byron, Cato, Weedsport and F-M.

9)      National rule change—Clear or white mouth guards will no longer be allowed, they will need to be colored so that they can be seen.  No word yet on the use of goggles. Tina is checking with Bruce on goggles.

10)   Tournament—Tina is checking with Bruce.

11)   Varsity Schedule—Jacki handed out a copy of a tentative game schedule.  Games will be earlier due to the new field.

12)    Pizza Party—possible dates are 9/12/05 or 9/21/05.

13)    Tryouts—Begin 8/22/05.

14)    Next meeting—8/29/05, 6:00, at The Blue Water Grill.
