8/27/07 Meeting Minutes

 

Location: 77 Chaucer Circle

Attendees:  Jackie Caselle, Cindy Fryer, Jeanine Telesco, Beckie Wasielewski, Ellen Lauko, Vicki Earle, Mike Caselle, Martha Passamonte, Mark Fryer, Pat Contant Clary, Sue Magan, Patty Davaro, Michelle McKenna, Julie Crowell, Linda Gribble, Carrie Sayler, Marcia Lamirande, Joy Aukema, Caylyn Dicruttalo, Tina L. Items discussed:

1)       5/16/07 Meeting Minutes—Cindy Fryer reviewed minutes from the previous.

2)       Tax Exempt Status—Tina advised that the paperwork has been submitted.   Every receipt will need to be kept.  No money can be spent without the approval of the Booster Club.

3)       Treasury--2 people need to be signers on the checking account.  Noel Penafeather and Kim Candee will be the signers.  Noel also suggested that we get a Post Office Box.  Some of the summer camp registrations never made it to her mailbox.

4)       Expenses—Marcia suggested that Noel and Mike Caselle be provided with some upfront cash for items such as postage, ink cartridges etc. Mike indicated he keeps all receipts and itemizes expenses.

5)       Pizza Party—will be held on 9/11/07 at 5:45 at the High School Cafeteria.

6)       Ice Cream Social–a chairperson is needed for next year.  Jackie and Marcia will go over details of what is needed with the next chairperson.  Jeanine Telesco expressed an interest.  The need for a committee for the Ice Cream Social will be mentioned at the Pizza Party.

7)       William Smith College—The JV and Varsity teams traveled to William Smith College again this year on 8/24/07to practice on the turf field.  It was agreed that we give a donation of $100 to William Smith College.  Carrie Sayler made a motion that we do this every year, seconded by all.

8)       Pictures—Mike Caselle will take pictures of the individual Varsity players and pictures of the Seniors, captains etc will be taken on 8/28/07 at 7:30 AM.  Steve Miller will take the group pictures of the Varsity and JV teams.   Mike also needs the rosters for each level and will needs the scores after each game to update the website.  He is also hoping that Ray McKenna will take pictures at the JV and Modified games and at Senior Day.

9)       Program—Well-wisher letters were sent to businesses that donated last year and the year before.  Well-wishers are due back from the players on 9/7/07.  Mike Caselle has forms for anyone or any other businesses that may want to be included in the program.  Marcia suggested an Alumni page.

10)   50/50 Raffle—Martha and Jerry Passamonte will continue to chair the 50/50.  We need 1 person at each level to run the 50/50 raffle.  This will be brought up at the pizza party.  We usually have a 50/50 at approximately 6 games, 1 modified. It was agreed to set aside $100.00 as start up money.

11)   Pasta Parties—Booster Club paid for 1 pasta party per level last year and will do the same this year.  Sue Magan offered to have a party for the modified team, Michelle McKenna for JV and Melanie Calo for Varsity.

12)   High School Yearbook—It was agreed that we would include in the HS yearbook a well-wisher for the Seniors.  A quarter page is $100.  Marcia will e-mail Mr. Legro.  Mark Fryer made a motion to continue this on a yearly basis, seconded by all.

13)   Yearbook—Vickie will need pictures at the end of September.  Vickie needs to have the yearbook completed by October 19th or 20th—needs to allow 2 weeks for printing.

14)   Bottle Drive—will be held on 9/15/07.  Drivers are needed.  If a player cannot attend, $25.00 in cash or cans and bottles must be submitted. It was agreed that donuts and 2 boxes of Joe would be purchased for the drivers and collectors.

15)   Senior Night—will be held on 10/11/07 (F-M game). Marcia advised she would like a co chairperson.  Beckie Wasielewski expressed and interest in co-chairing. 

16)   Clothing –Vickie Earle reported that we did well with the most recent clothing sale.  The last time to order will be at the Pizza Party.  She will also bring any leftover items from the last sale to sell.

17)   Concessions—Ellen Lauko bought sale items as she found them.  She needs help at the games, particularly at the JV level.  Jeanine Telesco indicated she might be able to help, depending on where Audra is playing.  Requests for volunteers will be made at the Pizza Party.

18)   Banquet—Shelly Clark is looking for someone to help with the Banquet.  Melanie Calo expressed an interest.

19)   Parent Managers—suggested that there be one for each team to let parents know what is going on.  The Modified team will have a 15 minute parent meeting after their 1st game on 9/21/07.

20)   Turf Field—Bruce Quimby or Jeanne Dangle may possibly speak to the Booster Club prior to the 10/23/07 vote.

21)   Coach’s Comments—Jacki Hess indicated she needs stats keepers and timekeepers.  Sue Farrell can help out with Varsity stats and Beckie Wasielewski can help with JV.  Tina is thankful to her coaches for working with the girls over the summer.  The girls are in better shape by leaps and bounds over last summer.  She has more time to spend with them on tactics and team play.  Tina also asked for approval to have the Booster Club purchase pizza and soda for the William Smith trip on a yearly basis, approved by all.  Tina received a request to sponsor the Geneseo Varsity Field Hockey team from Stephanie Honsinger, a former B’ville field hockey player.  It was agreed to a sponsorship of $25.00.  Tina also asked that the Booster Club pay for turf time at Jones Road--$160.00, 2 sides for 2 hours.  There will be 1 practice before each turf game.  The Athletic Department also provides funds for some turf practices.
