Passamonte, Mike Caselle, Jackie Caselle, Vikki Earle, Shelly Clark, Linda
Gribble, Marcia Lamirande, Melanie Calo, Tina Solomon, Jacki Hess, Joy Aukema,
Caylyn Dicruttalo, Laurie Petrik, Bill Saintey, Pat Clary (Contant), Stephanie
Pelcher
Items Discussed:
1)
Treasurer’s Report—There is currently $7,114.81 in the account,
reported by Kim Candee. The clothing
bill still needs to be paid. Kim
provided a detailed report prepared by Mike Candee for the years 2004, 2005 and
2006 outlining income, expenses and profit.
2)
Bottle Drive—Will be held on 10/7/06. Each player will be expected to
participate. If they cannot participate
or if they choose to collect their own bottles, they will be required to submit
$25 to the Booster Club by 10/7/06. It
will be made clear that the player is responsible for participation, not the
parent. Players cannot drive themselves
due to district policy. Also, the number
of players riding in a vehicle during the bottle drive must be limited to the
number that can be accommodated by seat belts.
3)
Pizza Party—Will be held on 9/12/06 at 5:30 PM (after
practice) in the Baker cafeteria. Forms will be passed out to the players on
Tuesday 95/06 to be returned 9/8/06. The
cost will be $2.00 per person, with a cap of $10.00 per family. Players will not be charged. Last year the pizza was purchased at Sal’s,
15 pizzas with a cost of $225.00. It was
also suggested that water be offered along with soda.
4)
Programs—MikeCaselle indicated that volunteers at all
levels are needed to sell the programs at the games. Well-wisher ad requests will be given to the
Coaches to hand out to the players, to be returned by 9/8. Business ads also need to be returned by
9/8. Requests for ads for the 2006
program were sent to those businesses that participated last year. $275 has been raised so far. Mailings were
sent to local business last year resulting in very little response. Mike also indicated that he needs help in
getting advertising. He passed out a copy of the letter sent to businesses and
suggested that anyone with a connection to a business may possibly be able to
get some support for the program. Last
year, McDonalds on Downer Street declined to place an ad in the program, but
offered the proceeds of their jukebox for a month. McDonalds needs to be contacted for this
year. The program will be set up the
same as last year, content wise.
5)
Team Pictures—Steve Miller will be taking Varsity and JV team
pictures on Friday, 9/1. Steve Miller
will contact Linda Gribble for the Modified team picture. Modified practice begins on Friday,
9/1/06. Mike Caselle is planning on
taking individual varsity player pictures also on 9/1. He will also take a separate picture of the
team captains and of the Seniors. If
Mike is not able to take the pictures, Carrie Sayler offered to be the
backup. Michelle McKenna agreed to take
pictures of the JV team for the year-end video. Modified pictures will also be
needed. An announcement will be made at
the pizza party. The person who makes
the roster cards is also coming on Friday 9/1.
6)
Clothing—Stephanie Pelcher reported that clothing orders
are in, projecting a profit of $300. Another order will be placed, order
deadline 9/15/06. There are still some
items left over from the initial order.
It was suggested that they be sold at the concessions at the games.
7)
50/50—Martha Passamonte
indicated that a JV parent is needed to sell tickets at the JV games. Mary Varga was suggested as a possible
candidate. Martha will contact JV
parents.
8)
Concessions—Ellen Lauko and Shelley Clark have huge tubs of paper
products from Bonny McCabe. We will not
be selling hot dogs because we do not have a grill. The grill used in past years belongs to a
player who has since graduated. It was
suggested that maybe the Booster Club purchase a grill. Ellen will call Bonny to check on sales in
the past to determine if it is worth purchasing a grill. We also need a table. Pat Clary offered the use of a table for the
season. It can be locked in the shed when not being used. A vote was taken and it was decided that the
Booster Club purchase a grill and a table. Ellen will shop around for the grill
and table and give receipts to Kim.
Volunteers are also needed to man the concessions. Volunteer sign up sheets will be set out at
the pizza party.
9)
Yearbook—Vikki Earle is heading this project and would like
the pictures of the Seniors early. She
will provide Tina with a form that the Seniors need to complete for the
yearbook. Renee McKee will have the
yearbook printed.
10)
Senior Day—will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006, 3:30
PM game against Liverpool.
11)
Senior Game—will be held on November 6, 2006, 6:00 PM at
Liverpool. The Booster Club will pay for the Seniors to participate. Tina will get the exact cost.
12)
Banquet—will be held either November 7,2006 or November 8,
2006.
13)
William Smith Trip
Update—August 25,2006—Tina indicated
that it was a good day. It was a good opportunity for the Baldwinsville players
to watch a college level practice and to see how the players are always on the
move. There was no charge for our
players to practice on turf at William Smith.
They only requested a $100 donation.
14)
Next meeting—9/20/06, Baker High School, Room 2405, 6:00 PM.
